A more traditional take on a design originally used by early European blacksmiths in the iron age the blacksmith's cross was rediscovered by Christoph Friedrich in an archeological dig in the 1970s. He re-introduced the technique and it's been part of the modern blacksmith's trade ever since. This variation is a personal expression of faith, love and pure inspiration.
This blacksmith cross was hand forged from a single bar of A36 steel with a rustic hammered finish and heart finials at each point. This is a very large piece measuring 25" x 17.5" and weighing three pounds.
No power tools or machining, traditionally hammer finished at the anvil, wire brushed and finished with beeswax and orange oil.
