This one of a kind, large Sacred Heart was hand forged from quality A36 steel with gentle, even curves and mirrored twists.
The cross is traditional take on a design originally used by early European blacksmiths in the iron age using techniques rediscovered by Christoph Friedrich in an archeological dig in the 1970s. The cross was hand forged from a single bar of A36 steel with a rustic hammered finish and was drawn into a tenon that secures the cross and heart to the wide, heavy base as a hand forged rivet.
The piece is 7" tall, 6" wide and weighs just under three pounds. The base is 6", the heart itself is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the cross is 3" x 2". The heart, cross and base were forged from 1/2" and 1/4" A36 respectively.
A perfect centerpiece for your table, or hearth. Hand forged with a true faith, passion and love for the art.
No power tools, or machining, traditional hammer finished at the anvil, wire brushed and finished with canola oil and beeswax while hot.
