A modern take on a design originally used by early European blacksmiths in the iron age the blacksmith's cross was rediscovered by Christoph Friedrich in an archeological dig in the 1970s. He re-introduced the technique and it's been part of the modern blacksmith's trade ever since. This variation is a personal expression of faith and artistic flair.
These blacksmith crosses are hand forged from a single bar of A36 steel with mirrored twists and a delicately wrapped finial. Each cross measures roughly four inches by seven inches.
Hammer finished at the anvil, wire brushed and finished with peanut oil while hot.
