Skidbladnir (Old Norse: Skíðblaðnir) is a magical ship that belongs to the Vanir god Freyr. It was built by Ivaldi’s sons according to the poem Grímnismál by Snorri Sturluson.
This large Skidbladnir / Viking Ship pendant was hand forged from quality A36 steel and comes with approximately 32" of genuine leather cord.
Starting with a single piece of 1/2" diameter square bar the steel was drawn out and forged to a width of 1/4" at its thickest point. At one ounce in weight it is light, comfortable and strong. Perfect for historical reenactment, renaissance festivals, SCA events or everyday wear for those of a more viking persuasion.
No power tools, or machining, traditional hammer finished at the anvil, wire brushed and finished with boiled linseed oil while hot.
All hand forged items will have minor variances in design.
